Celeb divorces: Why all the focus on cash? What about the kids?
I WAS interviewed by Charlie Jordan at Radio WM yesterday about Divorce and Separation, The Essential Guide, and we chatted, in part, about the recent spate of high-profile celebrity divorce cases.
I think it's such a shame that these couples are reported to fight so passionately about how much money is owed amid the split.
It's said that a "happy salary" is £30,000 a year (I must remember where I read/heard this figure!) but it's a lot less than that, isn't it? What does it all get spent on once you are past your first million?
Bottom line is children don't care how much their parents earn. They may want the flash trainers, the Nintendo DS and the Wii, but we all know a cuddle at bedtime and a good laugh costs nothing.
I'll spare you the 'I slept in an eggbox by the side of the motorway when I were a lad' chat - but this is something I feel very strongly about. No amount of money can ever take the place of a cherished relationship with a parent.
